A Summary about Schenker

Schenker, that was founded by Gottfried Schenker in Vienna more than 130 years ago, is a part of the Transportation and Logistics Division of Deutshe Bahn AG.

Schenker is a international provider of integrated logistics services.

(Logistics is the management of the flow of goods, information and other resources between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of consumers.)

Schenker provides many supports to trade and industry in the global exchange of goods - in land operations, in worldwide air and ocean freight, and in all the associated logistics services.

Schenker is a official Supplier to the IOC for freight forwarding and customs clearance services for the Olympic Games (Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008).

Almost 88,000 employees at about 2,000 offices around the world achieve a turnover of 180 billion euros per year.

Schenker connects the principal economic regions in over 30 European countries and Schenker's integrated logistics centers located at the hubs of the global flow of goods.

Schenker opended a branch in Korea in 1970.

In 1990, Cheon Woo Expresswas exclusive partner of Schenker.

And in 1997, Schenker International Korea Limited was registered.

On December 1, 2007, BAX Global Korea was amalgamated with Schenker Korea.

Today, Schenker Korea has more than 400 employees at 11 office (Incheon International Airport, Seoul, Gimpo, Busan, Ulsan, Gumi, Kimhae and Masan) and logistics locations throughout Korea with warehouse facilities sized 29,000 sqm ( 8,800 pyong).

With the Korea Logistic Center (KLC) established in the Free Trade Zone at IncheonInternationalAirport in 2006. It is a multipurpose logistics facility as competence core of logistics development and a logistics distribution hub for the northeast Asia.
